My main interest is to understand how enzymes catalyze chemical reactions.
In my lab, we use kinetic measurements, chemical substitutions on enzymes and substrates,
site-directed mutagenesis, heavy-atom isotopes, model systems, and structure-probing
techniques to proceed towards this goal.
Students are exposed to several laboratory techniques, including PCR amplification,
expression of proteins in E.coli cells, gel electrophoresis, radiolabeling of nucleic
acids, HLPC, FPLC, and LC-MS.
